CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH LANDFILL WILL BE TRUCKED TO THE GARBAGE DUMP EVERY YEAR USING 3D? JUST TAKE THIS EXAMPLE :
3D Printing in classrooms in just one country: People’s Republic of China. If we assume that
– there will be just one classroom with a 3D printer in every secondary (or higher) school (in total = c. 225,000),
– going to print just 1 kg of common filament material (e.g. PLA, ABS, PV, PVA ….) each month according to the curriculum,
– there will be additional plastic waste of approx . 225 tons. Per month!!
And this is talking about just one country. Using just 1 kg per school per month. Who is going to guarantee that those 225 tons are not ending up in the overflowing landfills, too?
All those companies swear that their product is “compostable”, or “biodegradable”, or “ecologically proven”(whatever that means), but none of them give figures about compostable/biodegradable /w h e n – the sad fact is that none (yes, n o n e of them) ascribe to European standard EN 13432 and ASTM D6400.
A1-filament BIO+ does! Within 12 months, at least 90% of our BIO+ filament will decompose to compost! The rest will as well, but will just take a little more time.
